What is the right quantity to purchase?

The right quantity to purchase is usually: the total number of kids in your program that will use any part of the downloaded master files, including song lyrics that are printed or displayed on a screen. In other words, count noses! Please do not just buy the minimum of 15, download the master files, and then put the song lyrics in front of more than 15 kids, whether in print, or on a screen or display board of any kind. If 45 kids will interact with the printed or displayed song lyrics, etc., the quantity should be 45.

What is the "default minimum"?

The “default minimum” quantity which will initially appear in your cart is 15.  However, you must adjust the quantity to be equal to the total number of kids with whom you’ll be sharing the script, lead-sheets, and/or printed or projected lyrics.  In other words, you should “count noses” and make your purchase for the total quantity of kids in your production.

Can you give me an example of how to determine this?

Sure thing! Let’s say you have 45 total kids in your program. There are 13 kids who have drama parts, and you have 8 kids who are doing solos. Some of them are the same kids. For the 13 with drama parts, you want to print copies of the script. For the 8 kids doing solos, you want to print for them the melody-line lead-sheet for their song. For the kids in the choir, you’ll just be projecting the lyrics (words-only) on a screen during rehearsal. You have a total of 45 kids in the production. What number should you put in the “quantity” field when making your purchase?

The proper quantity would 45. You “count noses” for the total number of kids using any part of the downloaded master files, including song lyrics only. If you are printing 45 sets of the lyrics, or if you are printing 15 sets of the lyrics and asking the kids to share 3 to a copy, you need to “count noses” and pay for 45.  If you are not printing on paper, but are projecting the lyrics on a screen or SMARTboard, or even writing the words out by hand on a white board, you still need to “count noses” and pay for the total number of kids who will be viewing the lyrics to learn the songs.

Using the example above, you could save a few dollars by purchasing the Reproducible Script and Lead-Sheets ($3.99 per user) for the minimum of 15 to cover your actors and soloists, and then purchasing the less-expensive Reproducible Script and Lyrics ($2.99 per user) for the 30 additional choir kids who don’t need the script or music score, but only need access to the song lyrics.

Does a CCLI License cover this?

If your church or school possesses a CCLI license for displaying copyrighted lyrics in a congregational setting, this DOES NOT cover the use of any of our songs. The CCLI license does not apply to any of the songs in our musicals, so it is not a part of the equation in using our songs legally. That is why we offer this reproducible option with these parameters.

Are you sending me physical/printed copies?

Purchasing the Downloadable Files and License will give you the rights to make copies and/or display the Script and Lead Sheets for a specific number of kids. You are not purchasing actual printed copies of anything. We will not ship these to you, but, rather, you will download the master files from which you may print your copies, and/or copy and paste to a projection software for display on a screen or SMART board for the number of users you specify in the quantity below.

What files are included in the download?

You will receive numerous separate master files as a part of this download:

  1. A folder named “Script and Lead Sheets.” This folder contains a single PDF file containing the complete drama script, with all songs as single-stave vocal line scores (just like the choral book). Print it out, and you have the complete contents of the choral book for your singers and actors, but at a bargain price, and with greater flexibility for use.
  2. A folder named “Script Only.” This folder contains the drama script without the songs, in both Microsoft Word format and in PDF format. The Word file allows for easy editing of the script before printing, if that is desired. We recommend that if you make any changes to the original, you always do a “save as” so that you always have the original, in a edition to any edited versions you may make.
  3. A folder named “Lyrics Only.” As a bonus with your purchase of the Script and Lead Sheet package, we are providing you with the song lyrics only in both Microsoft Word and PDF formats. The Lyrics Only makes it easy to copy and paste the words only into a projection program. This means you can print the music scores, and also project lyrics when that is helpful (for example, during choreography rehearsals). Please always include the copyright notices when importing the lyrics into a projection program.
  4. A folder named “Lead Sheets.” This folder contains an individual PDF file for each song. This may simplify the process of printing songs when you only need certain songs for rehearsals.

What if I don't know the total number of kids yet?

If you don’t know the total number of users yet, you may purchase the minimum of 15 now, and return later to pay for additional users, or you may make your “best guess” now, but you must return later to pay for any additional users. Please see the “Additional Information” section below for the explanation of “Users vs. Copies”.
