The King and Me

Created by Steve Moore, Deborah Craig-Claar, Rob Howard, David Guthrie

Welcome to the grand opening of Bethlehem’s first-century theme park Advent-ure — Royal World! Bethlehem is the birthplace of Israel’s great King David. This “favorite son” put them on the map, but it has been 1,000 years since David’s reign, and sleepy Bethlehem is hardly the next big tourist attraction. But, the ambitious Hannah believes that “The City of David” is the perfect place to bring fun and festivities built around this great king, and the census, bringing throngs back to their ancestral home, offers the perfect opportunity. However, failing to pass the safety inspections for proposed “thrill rides” like The Runaway Caravan (“we put you on a wild camel, then smack it with a stick!”) may bring those plans to a halt. Then comes news of a dramatic angel announcement right outside of Bethlehem: “today — in the city of David, a Savior has been born . . . and he will reign on David’s throne forever!” Your ticket to great fun, cool songs, and rock-solid Gospel truth . . . The King and Me!
